IRNA – Iran’s New Ambassador to China said that relations between Tehran and Beijing will flourish in the new chapter of relations opened between the two countries that coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the 40th anniversary of the reforms in China.
Mohammad Keshavarzadeh told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in an interview in Beijing on Wednesday that in addition to the economic spheres, Tehran-Beijing cooperation in other fields is also growing.
Iran’s ambassador to China stated ‘China is a large and powerful country with many capacities in various fields, and we must use all capacities to develop the country’.
‘The officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran are unanimous in the current situation that we can have extensive relations with China, and it is my duty to apply the opinion of the Iranian authorities to the development of relations and the utilization of China’s capacities,’ he said.
Referring to the importance of ‘public diplomacy’, Keshavarzzadeh pointed out that in the future there will be various programs, especially in the cultural field, to introduce Iran in China.
According to him, the use of cultural commonalities is a good basis for the development and strengthening of relations between the two countries in different sectors.
Pointing out that Tehran’s economic ties with China have been wide-scale, Iranian ambassador to China said that China’s advanced technology should be used to develop various sectors of Iran.
‘On the other hand, the Chinese can help us in the economic and industrial projects,’ Keshavarzzadeh continued.
Ambassador of Iran to China referred to the importance of Iran’s role in the plan of “One road One Belt”, and said, ‘In this case, and the need to strengthen Iran’s position in this plan, I spoke with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping.’
Referring to the fact that Iran, as one of the major countries of the route, plays an important role in the plan, Keshavarzzadeh emphasized that the initiative of the Chinese president would be very effective both for the economic development of West Asia and for the stability and security of the continent.
