Minister: Priority Job creation, hand-woven carpet export

IRNA – Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran said promotion of hand-woven carpet industry requires the formulation of an operational plan in this context.

‘Carpet associations are the best group for decisionmaking and development of the hand-woven carpet industry,’ Reza Rahmani said while referring to the capacities for job creation in the carpet industry.

Addressng a joint meeting with the unions and hand-woven carpet associations, Rahmani asked them to present the program for promoting the status of this art-industry, from the preliminary stage to the final product of the carpet.

‘The carpet export process is different from other materials and products,’ he said. ‘We also emphasize the commitment to the handmade carpet,’ he added.

According to IRNA, the government, under the conditions of the resumption of sanctions, aims to protect the foreign exchange reserves and provide the goods and services needed by the country on the foreign exchange contracting by exporters to ensure that export earnings will return to the country’s economic cycle, but exporters believe that this procedure disturbs the export process while the exporter will inevitably return forex revenues to the country.

According to the Minister of Industry, despite some problems in job creation and production of carpets, it can be successful by boosting the share of exports in the prosperity of employment and productive performance.
