Hezbollah hails late Ayatollah Shahroudi as supporter of Resistance

IRNA – Lebanon’s Hezbollah issued a condolence message on Wednesday over the demise of late Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi, saying he stood by the Islamic Resistance since its establishment in Lebanon and supported it in the fight against the Zionist regime.

Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi, the chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council and Iran’s former judiciary chief, passed away on Monday at the age of 70.

Hezbollah’s message condoled with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian top clerics, seminary schools and the bereaved family of the late Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi.

Noting that he was a brilliant scholar in Najaf and Qom seminary schools, the message added that Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi’s demise is a great loss for the Muslim world and the scientific and religious communities.
