IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi says Albania has fallen the victim of ‘unwanted measure’ in treating Iranian diplomats.
Talking to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Qasemi said the measure has been taken in line with the US, Zionists and some certain countries’ scenarios for damaging Iran-Europe relations under current sensitive situation.
Iran has always enjoyed cordial relations with Albania and has respected all the rules and regulations of this European country based on the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy principals, he added.
Given that the US was the first country to announce its stance on the issue and Albania said the action was taken in cooperation with the security services of other countries, Qasemi said this act approves the fact that Washington and Tel Aviv are behind such measure.
According to European media, Tirana has recently announced its decision to expel two Iranian diplomats on the pretext of ‘violating their diplomatic status’.
