SE Iran quake has no damage

IRNA The 4-magnitude earthquake which shook Golbaf City, Kerman Province on Wednesday had no damage, managing director of Kerman Crisis Management Center said.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Majid Saeedi said the rescue teams were dispatched to the quake site immediately.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 07:02 hours local time (03:32 GMT) at the depth of 8 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 57.84 degrees longitude and 29.97 degrees latitude.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
