NIOC: No contract signed with Russia's Rosneft

IRNA The National Iranian Oil Company announced that no contract has been signed with Russian integrated energy company 'Rosneft'.

The announcement was released in reaction to the claims regarding Russia as stopping cooperation with Iran due to US sanctions.

It was claimed that Rosneft had tended to withdraw from Iran oil industry and to sever cooperation.

According to the announcement, NIOC has just signed an MoU with the Russian company but no agreement has so far been signed.

After the implementation of Iran deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and thanks to suitable cooperation atmosphere, NIOC signed MoUs with various companies including Rosneft.

Russian companies Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, Zarubezhneft and Tatneft signed MoUs to participate in Iran oil industry development plans.

NIOC and Rosneft signed an MoU worth $30b to develop oil cooperation in October-November 2017.
