Quake jolts SW Iran

IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale jolted Hoveizeh in southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan on Tuesday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 12:05 hours local time (08:35 GMT) at the depth of 21 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 48.227 degrees longitude and 31.319 degrees latitude.

About 10 hours earlier, a 3.8 Richter quake had hit the area.

No reports have been published on probable damage or casualties.
