Protectionism saves $1m for refinery

SHANA – Iran’s Ilam Gas Refinery has saved more than a million dollars by implementing 10 projects aimed at supporting domestic manufacturers, the plant’s CEO said.

According to National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Shahryar Daripour said the projects were aimed at supporting Iranian producers and saved the plant a million dollars annually.

He said the projects included construction of the cooling unit to solve the temperature problems in the gas production units, implementation of the filter and heater system in the gas and condensate route, reviewing and updating operational risks studies and determination of protection layers and evening safety surfaces, of reusing chemicals consumed in the refinery, and supplying all the chemicals required by the refinery with the help of domestic producers.
