Iran says opposition to anti-Hamas resolution marks US heavy defeat

IRNA Iran's Ambassador in London Hamid Baeedinejad said the UN's opposition to the US draft resolution of condemnation of Hamas for its missile attacks on Zionist regime marks heavy defeat for the US and the Zionist regime.

Baeedinejad tweeted on Friday that the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley who had said upon appointment that she knew nothing of the UN and aimed to defend the Israeli regime, had a bitter farewell to the UN.

The UN General Assembly in its Thursday evening session did not give required two-thirds majority votes to the US proposed draft. The 193-member world body on Thursday gave 87 votes in favor, 57 against and 33 abstentions to the US proposed draft to condemn Hamas. US inability to pass the draft resolution marks another failure for the US and the Zionist regime and the Europeans that backed the US this time.
