Iran’s supreme leader comments on ‘no-retirees law’

IRNA – At a meeting with clerics and scholars on Tuesday, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution touched on some of the gaps in ‘no-retiree law’.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the importance and necessity of implementing the law on the prohibition of retirees from being employed in government positions.

He said, however, there are some gaps within the law which should be addressed.

Some officials have asked him to allow a number of the retired managers to be reinstated, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

A law was adopted in Iran in September which bans retirees from re-employment in public sector.
