Role of Europe to protect world against US lawlessness important: AEOI SPOX

IRNA – Spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) pointed out the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the risks of unilateralist approach of Washington, saying that the role of member-states of JCPOA, especially the European Union is important to protect the world from the US lawlessness.

‘The JCPOA has been an important and multilateral agreement which has been achieved through hard endeavors,’ Behrouz Kamalvandi said Monday at the third Iran-Europe peaceful nuclear cooperation seminar. “Since the agreement was implemented in January 2016, Iran, as reported on 13 reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), had fully adhered to its commitments within the framework of JCPOA.”

He stated that since the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, Washington has imposed illegal and inhuman sanctions against Iran; it also restricts the import of medicine to Iran by putting import and export companies on its list of sanctions.

The spokesman for Atomic Energy Agency continued, ‘The international community has widely condemned American action to re-impose sanctions on Iran and to violate the United Nations Security Council resolution 2231.”
