Iran reshuffles top energy officials as U.S. sanctions snap back

Bloomberg | : Iran, the OPEC producer whose oil exports are being affected by U.S. sanctions, is changing top executives at its energy companies.

In the past three days, it made three new CEO appointments. They include:


  • Behzad MohammadireplacingReza Norouzzadeh as CEO of National Petrochemical Co.

  • Masoud KarbasianreplacingAli Kardor as CEO of National Iranian Oil Co.

  • Hassan Montazer TorbatireplacingMohammad Reza Araghi as head of National Iranian Gas Co.


U.S. sanctions lifted as part of the 2015 nuclear accord with Iransnapped backearlier this month as President Donald Trump fulfills his vow to ramp up pressure on the Islamic Republic over its malign behavior in the Middle East, its ballistic missile tests and its nuclear program.
