IRNA – Sahand destroyer will be dispatched to missions at the Sea of Oman and the high seas as it is going to be unveiled soon, Deputy Coordinator of the Iranian Army Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said.

Sahand destroyer is undergoing the final stages of construction, Sayyari told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday.

The destroyer has been named Sahand after Iranian Sahand warship which was targeted in 1988 during an Iraqi-imposed war on Iran, Sayyari said.
