UK foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt lands in Tehran

MNA – British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has arrived in Tehran to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Hunt is scheduled to meet with Zarif and confer on issues including the future of the 2015 nuclear deal.

The British chief diplomat will also meet with the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

Hunt’s first visit to Iran will mainly focus on the nuclear deal, as his office announced earlier that he would stress that the UK is committed to the nuclear deal as long as Iran sticks to its terms.

He will also discuss European efforts to maintain nuclear-related sanctions relief.
