The Guardian | Patrick Wintour: Jeremy Hunt is visiting Iran on Monday, where he will make a personal appeal for the immediate release of the Iranian-British dual-national Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe on humanitarian grounds.
Zaghari-Ratcliffe was arrested in April 2016 as she and her daughter were about to board a flight back to the UK after a visit to her family in Iran. She was found guilty of spying and given a five-year jail sentence. She denies the allegations, and her plight has left a shadow hanging over Iran-UK relations.
In August, she was granted a three-day release from Evin prison but her request for an extension was denied and she was forced to say goodbye to her four-year-old daughter, Gabriella, and return to jail, where she had a panic attack.
