Iran, Russia stress boosting cultural ties

MNA Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Abbas Salehi and Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky called for broadening and enhancing bilateral, cultural cooperation.







Visiting Iranian culture minister met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Medinsky today morning after participating in the inaugural ceremony of an International Cultural Forum in Saint Petersburg.

Meanwhile exploring ways to boost bilateral relationship, the two sides termed interaction created between the two countries asconstructive.

For his part, Iranian Culture Minister Salehi expressedspecial thanks to the Russian government for holding Iran Cultural Week in Moscow adding, we hope that Russian Cultural Week will be held in Iran in coming year.

He pointed to St. Petersburg as a city familiar with Iranian cultural community adding, undoubtedly, Iran and Russia enjoy high capacities and potentials to broaden their cultural activities.

Salehi pointed to the age-old and longstanding relationship between Tehran and Moscow adding, in recent decades, new field of cooperation has been predefined between the two countries, based on which, cultural MoUs and agreements have been signed between the two countries.

Culture Minister of Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky expressed his special thanks to the Salehi for his participation in 7th Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum and said, Russia is ready to expand all-out relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Irans culture minister is scheduled to meet with a group of Russian Iranologists and professors of Persian language and literature in Saint Petersburg on Friday.
