IRNA – EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini reiterated that the bloc will support Iraq’s stance against US sanctions against Iran.
In a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi late Friday, she said that the EU is also ready to help Iraq deal with the US anti-Iran sanctions.
Expressing pleasure with formation of the Iraqi new government, she said that Iraq can play a major role in creating cooperation bonds in the entire region.
Describing cooperation with Iraq as one of the significant priorities of the EU, Mogherini reiterated the bloc’s political, financial and security support for the country.
Earlier, Iraqi premier expressed opposition to US unilateral sanctions against the Iranian nation, stressing that his country will never be part of the sanctions regime against nations and will act like the EU, Russia and China with regard to anti-Iran sanctions.
