Iranian cleric: Trump most discreditable US president

Tasnim – A top Iranian cleric branded Donald Trump as the most discreditable president in the US history, saying he is falsely trying to glorify his administration with media propaganda campaign.

Addressing Friday prayer-goers in Tehran, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani said the image of US president has never been worse than it is now.

“The Islamic Republic’s enemies, particularly Trump, seek to present themselves as being successful through media war and falsification,” the cleric noted, saying the US government has gained the most notorious image by supporting the Zionist regime of Israel and Saudi Arabia.

He also recommended the US politicians to stop overplaying their capabilities with media propaganda, saying the world leaders laughed at Trump at the UN General Assembly when he was trying to brag about his administration.

In comments earlier this month, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the diminishing influence of the US government in all areas of power, saying, “The contemporary US is several times weaker than the US four decades ago.”

During the current US president’s term, world nations and even the governments in Europe, China, Russia, India, Africa, and Latin America have been overtly opposing the US government’s decisions, the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed that the US “hard power” in the military and economic spheres are also at a low ebb, saying the US government’s $800 billion budget deficit is a clear sign of its economic decline.
