�The European Union is currently subject to this great test of how and by which way it can maintain its independence and act as an independent entity,� he said.

Qasemi pointed out that there are indications that Europe is determined to do so, and as other countries in the world are in a serious line with American unilateralism, 'I hope that Europe can play a role both as a major economy and an emerging entity'.

The spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry on the latest state of the Iranian diplomat arrested in Belgium stated, �Our political, legal and diplomatic efforts continue to clarify the situation of this Iranian diplomat, and lawyers are there for them, and I hope that his innocence will be proved as soon as possible and can return to the country.'
