Russia: US withdrawal from JCPOA shortsighted move
IRNA -- Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Vladimir Yermakov on Wednesday slammed US exit from the 2015 nuclear deal as a shortsighted move.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministrys website, he said that his country regards US withdrawal from the international accord as a mistake which dealt a blow to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Russia is determined to comply with its commitments under the deal and is seeking in cooperation with other parties to create effective mechanisms for backing trades with Iran against the US sanctions, Yermakov said.

The European Unions foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, has announced that a so-called Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under consideration to facilitate trade with Iran could be in place before November.

The mechanism aims to help continue trade with Iran in defiance of the US unilateral sanctions.
