US lonelier than before: Iran nuclear chief

IRNA The US is lonelier than before, Iran's nuclear chief said on Monday.

'The US violates the UN Security Council's resolutions; therefore, Iran should be vigilant to foil the US' conspiracies,' Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said on Monday.

He referred to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's address to the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and noted that Iran was in the focal point of attention during the event while the US became isolated more than before.

The US president mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
