IRNA – Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang denounced Saturday’s terrorist attack in southwestern Iran.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, Shuang underlined the fact that China is against terrorism in any shape and conducted by any group.

He also expressed deep regret over the sad occasion.

China believes that the International community is responsible for boosting fight against terrorism to protect peace, stability and security in the region and in the world.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others were injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province, in southwestern Iran.

“The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,’ Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said earlier.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
