IRNA – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday that recent report by Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano reveals Iran’s non-diversion from the JCPOA.
Amano released the 12th report on Iran’s nuclear program on August 30 verifying Iran’s compliance with the deal and Resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council.
The document will be reviewed by the IAEA’s Governing Board on September 10.
Zakharov said that director general of the IAEA once again underlined Iran’s adherence to its commitments under the deal.
She further noted that this indicates peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear deal.
Iran is a country which has had largest number of inspections by the IAEA, she said, noting that Tehran’s approach is also indicative of its resolve to maintain the deal.
Zakharov reiterated her country’s support for the JCPOA.
US withdrawal from the JCPOA on May 8 drew criticism from international community and other parties to the deal.
