Iran potentially prepared to produce 190,000 SWU of nuclear fuel: MP

IRNA Chairman of Iran Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahat-Pisheh said on Thursday that it is likely both technically and based on time frame for Iran to produce 190,000 SWU of nuclear fuel.

Falahat-Pisheh made the remarks following a visit of the commissions members to Natanz and Fordow nuclear facilities to prepare a report on the sites.

Noting that the report of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will be different from that of Foreign Ministry, he said, In this report, we examined the possibility of producing 190,000 SWU of nuclear fuel as the Supreme Leader has earlier ordered that and we concluded that it is probable both in terms of technique and time table.

The ups and downs and failure to implement the Iran Deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should not hinder Iran from developing its nuclear technology and it should keep pace with global standards, he said.

Another important issue is reversibility, thats to say if JCPOA fails, how much the Iranian experts will be capable to retort to the pre-deal situation, he said.

We achieved promising results and we can easily reverse the course without losing time, the member of Iran Majlis stressed.

The machineries dismantled earlier have been coded precisely and can be reassembled at the earliest, Falahat-Pisheh said.
