IRNA � Promotion of cooperation with the regional countries and the neighboring states is among Iran's top priorities, President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday.


President Rouhani made the remarks after a cabinet session in the Iranian capital city.

Elaborating on his plans for the current economic situation in the country, the president said the government will follow the guidelines set drawn up recently by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for the government.

Development of privatization, support for the private sectors and economic enterprises, reform in banking system, management of liquidity and enhancement of relations with the regional and neighboring states are among top priorities mentioned in the Leader's guidelines which will be followed up by the government with all power, the president said.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, during a meeting held on August 29 with President Rouhani and his cabinet members, said that officials in charge of the economy sector must work hard, keeping up with the goals of Economy of Resistance.

'The quality and extent of work by the officials in charge of the Economy Sector must be such that they work round the clock. And the pivot of all the efforts being made in this sector must be in line with the policies of the Economy of Resistance�which entails empowering domestic production.'
