Hurriyet Daily News - Iran has good relations with Turkey, Iranian Defense Minister General Amir Hatami said on Aug. 19.
Speaking to the state television, Hatami said his countrys relations with Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on brotherhood and honesty.
He said he has visited several countries recently, describing the results of his visits as positive.
On August 7, the U.S. re-imposed a first round of economic sanctions on Iran, which mainly target the countrys banking sector.
The sanctions are intended to hinder Tehrans acquisition of U.S. currency; its precious metals trade; bank transactions denominated in the
Iranian rial; activities related to Irans sovereign debt; and the countrys automotive sector.
Earlier this month, Turkeys Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dnmez said trade between Turkey and Iran will continue as part of a long-term bilateral contract, which is set to run until 2026.
