Iran's president leaves for Kazakhstan to attend Caspian Sea summit

IRNA President Hassan Rouhani headed to Kazakhstan to participate in the Caspian Sea littoral states summit slated for Sunday (August 12).


Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Amir Hatami and Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli are accompanying President Rouhani during the trip.

The Caspian Sea littoral states ministerial meeting was held on August 11 with the participation of foreign ministers of its consisting countries (Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan).

The previous meeting of the foreign ministers was held on December 4-5, 2017, in Moscow.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said earlier that the draft of the Caspian Sea legal regime convention has been proposed to be signed during the summit by leaders of the participating countries.
