Rouhani: Tehran-Islamabad to broaden ties

IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan is beyond normal level and both sides will spare no effort to further broaden their ties.


Rouhani made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the head of the National Assembly and current chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi on Wednesday.

Congratulating him on the triumph of his party in a nationwide elections in Pakistan, Rouhani expressed the hope that in the new era the two sides would witness closer and sincere relations and cooperation between the two countries mainly in the economic sectors.

During the telephone conversation, Rouhani invited him to attend the upcoming dialogue assembly on expansion of cooperation among Asian countries which is to be held in Tehran.

Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, for his part, thanked the Iranian president for his invitation and expressed the hope to witness all out cooperation between the two sides mainly in the economic sector.

Islamabad attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with Tehran, he said.
