Financial Tribune - A total of 662,798 tons of wholly or semi-milled rice worth more than $674 million were imported into Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22) to register a 2.8% and 11.9% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, based on the latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Rice accounted for 5.74% and 4.44% of the weight and value of Iran�s total amount of imports over the period respectively, Mehr News Agency reported.

India and Pakistan are the main exporters of rice to Iran.
