IGTC gas delivery capacity at 260 bcm

SHANA -- The CEO of Iran Gas Transmission Company (IGTC) said the company has the means and capacity to transmit as much as 260 billion cubic meters of natural gas and liquids per year throughout the country.

According to National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Saeid Tavakkoli said IGTC was primarily tasked with the delivery of natural gas, ethane and gas liquids from domestic and foreign sources to consumers and export terminals. The company is also involved in the swap of gas.

He said IGTC operates 10 districts in gas transmission operations in the country, adding the company enjoys over 36,000 kilometers of pipelines and 81 compressors with 292 turbo-compressors, 9 gas import and export terminals and 600 telecommunication stations, adding the company ranks first in the Middle East and the fourth in the world for its gas transmission capacity.

Tavakkoli further said that IGTC had obtained major achievements in domestic manufacturing of equipment and localizing technical savvy for delivering and storing gas.

IGTC has successfully revamped MAN and DJ59 turbines for the first time in the country by using domestically-made equipment.
