ILNA - The big ceremony of giving gifts of Eid to newlywed women is an old tradition that has been practiced by Iranians since ancient times. The ceremony is mostly held on auspicious days and Eids, including Nowruz (Persian New Year), Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, etc., to give gifts to brides.
Presents are prepared by the bridegrooms family and they are placed in large trays. Then the bridegrooms female family members take these trays on their heads and joyfully head to the house of the brides family to give presents to the brides family.
