Enemy focusing on Irans oil sales, banking transactions: Larijani

Tasnim Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned of the US administrations plots to increase pressures against the Islamic Republic in various economic fields, oil exports and banking transactions in particular.

Oil sales and banking transactions are two issues of our country that the enemy has kept its focus on and we should make every effort to prevent the enemy from reaching its goals, Larijani said in a speech in the central city of Qom on Thursday.

In this situation, there is a possibility of internal reforms in the country and what strategy the Iranian people and officials adopt to counter threats posed by the enemy is important, he added.

Larijani said many of the countrys economic problems have nothing to do with the enemys threats, adding that if managers work hand in hand the pressures will be ineffective.

US President Donald Trump in May pulled the United States out of the 2015 nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying he would reimpose US sanctions against Iran.

His administration has threatened countries with sanctions if they dont cut off Iranian oil imports by early November.
