Petroleum minister in Parliament commission to explain sanctions on Iran

IRNA Iran's Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh attended a session of Majlis National security and Foreign Policy Commission on Sunday to brief the lawmakers on the sanctions on Iran's oil industry, according to spokesman of the Commission Ali Najafi Khoshroudi.

The latest measures taken by the Petroleum Ministry, including those regarding Iran's oil exports and the country's oil diplomacy given the new sanctions imposed on Tehran, were discussed in the Commission session, Najafi Khoshroudi said.

As the sanctions mainly aim to reduce Iran's oil exports and create obstructions on the country's oil industry, the necessity to make use of all the capacities to counter such a condition was stressed, the lawmaker said.

He said that paying special significance to making use of energy fields shared with neighboring countries, the need to maintain Iran's share in the oil market and the completion of South Pars projects in southern Iran were also discussed in the Commission session.
