Iran special envoy visits Tunisian president

IRNA – Iran’s special envoy visited the president of Tunisia in order to deliver President Rouhani’s message to his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi.

In the meeting that took place in Carthage, Hossein Jaberi-Ansari and the Tunisian president discussed most recent developments regarding the Iran Deal and US unilateral exit from the international nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Jaberi-Ansari, during the meeting, elaborated on Tehran’s efforts to find peaceful solutions to the crises in the region, and emphasized the expansion of political, cultural, economic ties between Iran and Tunisia.

Essebsi, while expressing gratitude to the Iranian president, said his country is pursuing an independent policy on the regional and the global issues.

Both sides also stressed on the importance of finding inclusive political solutions for the regional crises and putting an end to disagreements.
