Switzerland eager to preserve JCPOA: UN envoy

IRNA Swiss Ambassador to the UN Jurg Lauber described President Hassan Rouhanis visit to his country as a major towards promoting bilateral relations, saying that Switzerland is interested in preserving Iran nuclear deal known as the JCPOA.


Talking to IRNA on Tuesday, he hailed Tehran-Bern excellent, constructive and long-standing ties, saying that they have always had interaction with each other.

Asked whether the visit had a message to the international community to keep the deal, he said that of course thats the case and all should endeavor to maintain the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Rouhani visited two European states including Switzerland at a time when Washington is trying to isolate Iran.

Rouhani arrived in Vienna late Tuesday on the second leg of his two-nation tour of Europe.

During his visit to Switzerland, Rouhani met with his Swiss counterpart Alain Berset, discussing latest developments in the region and world.
