Swiss President says happy to meet Rouhani

IRNA – President of Switzerland Alain Berset in a message hailed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who arrived in the country today.

“Pleased to welcome President @Rouhani_ir to #Switzerland. We plan to discuss our bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them as well as regional and non-proliferation issues at a crucial time,” Berset wrote in his twitter account.

Rouhani leading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation arrived in Zurich of Switzerland on Monday upon the official invitation by his Swiss counterpart Alain Berset.

During his stay, President Rouhani is to meet the Swiss president and Iranians residing in the country and sign a number of MoUs in various political, economic and cultural fields.

After his two-day stay in Switzerland, the Iranian president will depart for Vienna at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen.

In Austria, President Rouhani is scheduled to meet with top Austrian officials and sign several agreements on cooperation in various areas.
