IRNA � Head of the Management and Planning Organization in Tehran Province Nematollah Torki says two billion dollar foreign investment was attracted in the last Iranian calendar year of 1396 (2017-18).

Torki told IRNA on Sunday that this year the amount of foreign investment will be doubled.

He said foreign investment was channeled to the solar energy, agricultural, industry, mines, trade, processing industries in agriculture and technology last year and this year the investment is to focus on the information technology.

The official said this year, jobs will be provided for 132,000 individuals and the ratio will increase with entry of investment from Germany and France.

He said the third Iran Export Fair will be held in Aftab International Fair in October where 160 companies from various European, African, Asian, and American countries will showcase their food, agro, auto, mining, petrochemical and construction products as well as house appliances and medical equipment.
