Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivered a lengthy speech at the national judiciary congress on Tuesday in Tehran, discussing the US pullout from the Iran nuclear deal dubbed JCPOA and its consequences.
Trumps withdrawal from the JCPOA was the last and worst option for the Americans, which was backed by only a handful of small countries, Rouhani said, adding that Irans measure in response imposed the highest costs on US for its decision to pullout from the agreement.
The Americans thought that the moment they pulled out of the JCPOA, we would also withdraw the next day, so that they could take our case to the UN Security Council again, and rally all countries to re-impose sanctions on Iran, said Rouhani.
The Iranian president went on to stress that today, we are in a victorious political situation; the US, however, is trying to break Irans power and resistance in a different way.
