Army establishes control over Busr al-Harir and Malihat al-Atash in Daraa, advances towards al-Hirak and Nahita

SANA – The Syrian Arab Army established control over the towns of Busr al-Harir and Malihat al-Atash in the northeastern countryside of Daraa province, inflicting heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, a military source said on Tuesday.

The source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, continued operations against Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists located east of Izra’a city, establishing control over the towns of Busr al-Harir and Malihat al-Atash, two of the terror organization’s strongholds in the area.

The source said that engineering units are clearing the two towns of landmines and explosives, as combat units are fortifying their positions in them in preparation for advancing against terrorists in nearby areas.

The source said the operations resulted in killing many terrorists from al-Nusra, destroying their equipment and weapons and seizing large amounts of weapons and ammo, along with a tank and two BMP vehicles.

To the south of Busr al-Harir, SANA’s war correspondent said that army units are advancing in Nahita towns, while other units advanced towards al-Hirak town east of Ghazala town, amidst a state of collapse in the ranks of terrorists.

The correspondent said that the operations are precise and are preceded by accurate artillery strikes against terrorist hideouts.

Terrorist groups’ social media pages acknowledged that 19 of their members were killed during the past two days as a result of the army’s operations in Daraa.
