FM spokesman: Tehran hosts 1st G4+1 on JCPOA meeting

IRNA Foreign Ministry pokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that following the US unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA Tehran hosted the first G4+1 meeting in the absence of the US to examine the latest status of the treaty and the commitments of the Europe.

Nuclear talks were very constructive and it is hoped that it would be continued within coming days or weeks and Tehran will be able to receive the required guarantees from the JCPOA member-states, he said.

'Europe should provide Iran with required guarantees through finding practical mechanism to defend its stances with regards to JCPOA,' Qasemi said.

There is no doubt that Russia and China along with other three European states are accountable to the treaty and 'we hope they won't miss the chance as the time' is running out, he said.

'Our people are outpatient as witnessed numerous breaking promises,' he underlined.
