Zarif message submitted to Oman FM

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in continuation of diplomatic consultations with the Persian Gulf's southern neighbors sent a message for Omani counterpart on Wednesday.

The message was sent by Assistant Minister and Director General for Persian Gulf Affairs Mohammad Farazmand and submitted to Responsible Minister for Foreign Affairs Yusuf Bin Alawi.

In the meeting the two sides discussed and considered bilateral relations and regional issues.

Sultanate of Oman among member-states of Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) has independent policy towards regional issues, especially cooperation with Iran, and had offered a lot of efforts to start negotiations between Tehran and the Western states to settle disputes on nuclear activities.

Following Trump decision to exit JCPOA, Oman criticized the decision and asked Washington to restrain from confrontation with Iran.

Yusuf Bin Alawi visited Tehran on March and had meetings with President Rouhani, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani and Governor of Central Bank Valiollah Seif.
