IRNA � The Iranian, French, British, and German foreign ministers will meet on Monday to discuss the Iran Deal situation after the US president pull his country out of it, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Wednesday.

Le Drian didn�t give any details on where the meeting will take place.

The French foreign minister, whose country is interested in keeping the deal, said that French President Emmanuel Macron would speak on the phone to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani later in the day.

He told RTL radio that France wanted to stick to the nuclear accord that Tehran agreed with world powers in 2015 - a pact which he said Iran had honored, reported Reuters.

�The deal is not dead. There�s an American withdrawal from the deal but the deal is still there,� Le Drian said.

�The region deserves better than further destabilization provoked by American withdrawal. So we want to adhere to it and see to it that Iran does too, that Iran behaves with restraint,� he said.

The 2015 nuclear deal between Iran, on one side, and United States, France, Germany, Britain, Russia, and China, on the other side, was signed after 12 years of endeavor to lift sanctions on Iran in exchange for Tehran limiting its nuclear program.

Before the deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the West was worried that Iran would develop a nuclear bomb although Iran had repeatedly announced that there is no room for that kind of worry and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei had issued a fatwa against making nuclear weaponry.
