Russia ready for broadening ties with Anzali Free Zone

IRNA Russian President Vladimir Putins Special Envoy for Caspian Sea littoral states affairs Ramazan Abdollatifev on Sunday voiced his countrys readiness for promoting ties with Anzali Free Zone in all fields.
Touring Caspian Ports Complex of Anzali Free Zone late Sunday, he told reporters, I have already had more information about Anzali Free Zone but today I got acquainted with the zones trade, economic and tourism capacities.

Anzali Free Zone and Lotus Free Zone have excellent ties and the zones should be forerunner in boosting the two countries ties in all fields.

Hoping that bilateral relations will improve in near future, he said that leaders of the two countries have always been in close contact, as there are suitable conditions for developing bilateral relations.

Despite good communications between the two countries leaders, their economic activists have not strong ties, he complained.

Anzali Free Zone boasts of suitable capacities for promoting tourism, he said, noting that given the existing capacities and infrastructure for promoting maritime tourism, conditions are ripe for promoting sports, medical and natural tourism in the region.

Managing Director of Anzali Free Zone Reza Masroor referred to the significance of promoting trade, economic and tourism ties with Russia, saying, Our first priority in Anzali Free Zone is to boost all-out ties with the country and Caspian Ports Complex is currently under construction with a focus on exports.

Despite high capacities of the two countries in the fields of tourism, necessary maritime infrastructure has not yet been prepared for boosting tourism, he said.

Anzali Free Zone as the only free zone in the southern part of the Caspian Sea and the economic hub of Iran with an area of 9,400 hectares of land and 40 km shoreline is located in Gilan province which has started its official activity since 2005.
