Touring Caspian Ports Complex of Anzali Free Zone late Sunday, he told reporters, “I have already had more information about Anzali Free Zone but today I got acquainted with the zone’s trade, economic and tourism capacities.”

Anzali Free Zone and Lotus Free Zone have excellent ties and the zones should be forerunner in boosting the two countries’ ties in all fields.

Hoping that bilateral relations will improve in near future, he said that leaders of the two countries have always been in close contact, as there are suitable conditions for developing bilateral relations.

Despite good communications between the two countries’ leaders, their economic activists have not strong ties, he complained.

Anzali Free Zone boasts of suitable capacities for promoting tourism, he said, noting that given the existing capacities and infrastructure for promoting maritime tourism, conditions are ripe for promoting sports, medical and natural tourism in the region.

Managing Director of Anzali Free Zone Reza Masroor referred to the significance of promoting trade, economic and tourism ties with Russia, saying, “Our first priority in Anzali Free Zone is to boost all-out ties with the country and Caspian Ports Complex is currently under construction with a focus on exports.”

Despite high capacities of the two countries in the fields of tourism, necessary maritime infrastructure has not yet been prepared for boosting tourism, he said.
