Russia firms not scared by US sanctions – Ambassador

SHANA — The Russian ambassador to Tehran said on Tuesday Russian firms were not afraid of any renewed sanctions on Iran’s energy sector.

Levan Dzhagaryan told an Iran-Russia forum in Tehran that Russian companies would not be scared away from investing in Iran even if US President Donald Trump decided to leave the nuclear deal with Tehran

“Russian companies are making their best to be actively present in the Iran market, particularly in its energy sector,” he said.

The Russian diplomat said President Vladimir Putin would by no means support any sanctions on Iran. “Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has reiterated time and again that this country will not support possible sanctions against Iran.”
