IRNA � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif departed Tehran for Moscow Saturday to participate in a meeting on Syria.


In his day-long visit to Russia, Zarif will take part in a trilateral meeting with his Russian and Turkish counterparts, Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Friday.

The meeting is aimed at discussing the latest developments in Syria, he added.

The previous negotiations between the top diplomats of the three countries, acting as guarantors of the Syrian ceasefire, were held in Kazakhstan's Astana on March 16.

During the meeting, Iran, Russia and Turkey in a statement underlined continuation of effective interaction between all parties in Syria and preventing sectarianism.
