EU keep talking on Iran nuclear deal: German Chancellor

IRNA Iran nuclear deal was the first step to slow down the country's nuclear activities and increase monitoring process on that and 'we continue to talk about it', said German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

'The Joint Comprehensive Plan of action is not flawless, but it is a part of a puzzle that Britain, France, Germany and the US have worked on,' said Merkel on Friday in a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump.

She made the remarks while Iran has announced that it will not accept any new negotiations on the issue and the limitations defined by the JCPOA.

'In the present meeting attended by representatives of more than 100 countries, I, as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announce that whatever agreement Europe and the US make regarding the future of the nuclear deal and Iran's nuclear program after the end of the limitations, stated in the JCPOA, is of no credit or value to Iran,' secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said on Wednesday at the 9th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Sochi, southwest Russia.

Saying that the whole region is more important to them, she added that she believes that nuclearizaion of Iran should stop and the JCPOA has been the first step to curb and slow down Iran activities.

She is implying the accusation that Iran is trying to make an atomic bomb, while Iran has repeatedly announce that it is not after making it, and Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has issued a fatwa against making nuclear bombs.

Since the signing of the deal in 2015, the International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly confirmed that Iran has been committed to the deal, its nuclear activities are peaceful and has no trace of deviation.

She also said that the deal is not enough to stop Iran, and they need to curb Iran's attempts to have a geopolitical leverage in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
