ISNA� The event of �Tabriz, tourist capital of Islamic countries in 2018� will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday April 25 in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

The Iranian vice-president and the head of Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Mounesan said on Sunday, �Among the competitors like Malaysia, Bangladesh, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Tabriz was elected by the vote of 9th Summit of Islamic Countries�.

�The main reasons for this designation are the existence of typical tourist areas, appropriate infrastructure such as hotels, two UNISCO�s world heritage sites, rest complexes, museums, natural landscapes and organizing cultural events, multiple historical monuments, customs, the number of provinces, the designation of Tabriz as the world carpet city and the number of tourist visiting this city�.
