IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message welcomed achievements gained in his Turkey visit.
Zarif accompanied President Hassan Rouhani in a summit meet on Syria in Ankara, Turkey.
“Crucial summit today with Turkey and Russia. Joint renewal of commitment to sovereignty, independence, unity, territorial integrity and non-sectarian character of Syria,” Zarif said in a Twitter message released on Wednesday.
“Building on the achievements of Astana and Sochi to secure lasting cease-fires and advance political process,” he added.
Following his visit to Turkey, Zarif arrived in Baku on Wednesday to attend NAM meeting.
Azerbaijan will host the Mid-Term Ministerial Conference of NAM on April 5-6, in Baku. The meeting will be held after the senior officials meeting on the 3rd and the 4th of April under the theme “Promoting International Peace and Security for Sustainable Development.”
