Iran, Azerbaijan discuss broadening of mutual cooperation

IRNA Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Massoumeh Ebtekar discussed mutual cooperation with First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Republic Mehriban Aliyeva here on Wednesday.


During the meeting, Ebtekar pointed to development of ties between the two countries in all fields, and said that enhancing cooperation will benefit both nations.

She reiterated that economic cooperation and execution of joint projects in the fields of transit and transportation would be useful for future of both states.

Ebtekar also expressed the hope that Iran and Azerbaijan Republic would develop their relations in the field of family and women affairs.

She praised humanitarian plans executed by Haidar Aliyev Charity Foundation and efforts of Mehriban Aliyeva in this concern.

The Azeri first vice-president expressed pleasure for visit of President Rouhani and the accompanying delegation to Azerbaijan Republic, and said that relations between the two states relied on historical friendship and brotherhood ties.

She said that meeting between the two presidents will strengthen bilateral relations.

Aliyeva said the two countries have implemented important plans in recent years in direction of mutual interests of the two states and the region.

She pointed to bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of transportation, and said that related agreement to execute railway plan to connect Rasht to Astara will be signed on Thursday.

President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Baku on Wednesday noon for a 2-day official visit.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari, Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi, Head of Presidential Office Mahmoud Vaezi and Presidential Economic Advisor Mohammad Nahavandian are accompanying president during this visit.
