IRNA – The British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson in a message expressed congratulation over Nowruz holiday.
“Nowruz Mubarak to all those celebrating Nowruz in the UK and around the world,” the message reads.
“Nowruz marks the start of Spring, and a time when we look forward to the year ahead, coming together with family to celebrate new beginnings, peace and friendship,” he added.
“So, however and wherever you are celebrating, I extend my warmest greetings to you and your loved ones and wish you a very happy New Year!,” he reiterated.
Nowruz is celebrated as the first day of the Persian year (March 21). The tradition which is originated from the ancient Iran is also celebrated in some other countries.
Senior officials of many countries together with resident ambassadors in Iran have so far expressed congratulation over the Iranian New Year.
